Our Huge House

Guest post written by my buddy Bernardo Graham

My husband and I have moved every two years for the last ten years. At first it was because we were renting and would get sick of a place. Then we started having kids and needed more space all the time. I never thought I would have four children, but here I am with a large family. We just moved into what I hope will be our permanent home. I can’t see needing more space than six bedrooms. We want to take good care of our new home and make sure that we can be happy here for a long time. We did a bunch of repairs before we moved in, and we are putting on the finishing touches now. The house is so big that I know we will need wireless internet lowellso everyone can stay connected. We still need to have the kids pick out the colors they want their walls painted, so that should be fun. I am sure they will want to change them again in a few years, but by then they will probably need a touch up anyways.

Go free

Authored by Rickey Combs

So the traditional working environment isn’t working for me anymore. Lunch breaks and vacation days just don’t make me feel like I’m living in the land of the free. Call me an entitalist if you want, but there are too many options out there for me to sit in front of a desk all day pushing papers for a company that doesn’t know my passions and I certainly don’t share theirs. I feel like I’m staring in my own version of Office Space, but I don’t think the concept is that ridiculous. I’m crafty. I could market something or provide a service for someone without feeling like a slave in a free country. In fact, there are even whole companies out there who specialize in providing communication resources to small businesses. I ran across t1.xo.com/ the other day and was amazed at the possibilities. You can connect to anything anywhere. Tell me why I need to sit in a cubicle all day dreaming of the sun when I can be out in cultivating a productive and flexible lifestyle. I say go free!

Scouted

Thanks to Jonathon Woods

It is my favorite time of year when all of the networks start introducing new shows and seeing what sticks and what will be popular with the masses. This year E! Network came out with a new show called Scouted. It is a show where model scouts will go around to malls, high school sporting events, concerts, you name it, to find girls who look like they could potentially be good models. They will approach them and ask them if they would be interested and most girls stand there like a deer in headlights trying to come up with the words to answer the scout’s questions. Some girls will turn them down and say they are not interested but the ones who get followed on the show are the ones who are interested in modeling. The scout will then have the girls flown to New York for interviewing and test shoots to see if they are indeed model material. Some of the girls work out and will get signed by the agency and some girls don’t. It is fun to guess who will and who won’t get signed. Check here http://www.expertsatellite.com/direct-tv/direct-tv-palm-bay-florida.html to find out when Scouted comes on in the Palm Bay area.
